This project explored how visual design can translate the spirit and formal characteristics of a music genre. Using a mix of realistic, abstract, and hybrid imagery, I created a composition that blends identifiable musical elements with expressive color, texture, and form to communicate rhythm, mood, and energy. The final piece balances physical representation and abstraction to visually capture both the sound and emotional impact of the music.
Chosen Genre: House Music
I chose house music for its ability to balance structure and emotion. Its repetitive rhythms, layered textures, and steady energy create a visual language that is both minimal and expressive, making it an ideal genre to translate into form, color, and composition.

I drew every component from these DJ mixers and controllers in my digital illustration. I thought a DJ deck would be a fun challenge because there are so many small components that many would overlook.
